U.S. Census Bureau: By 2010 One Out Of Every Two Households In The US Will Have A Home Business.
Consider the fact that a home business offers certain stability. Granted, there is absolutely no guarantee that you will have clients, contracts, or work, but the option of making a home based business profitable rests with you and the kind of work ethic you have. If you are the stereotypical go-getter, then a home business opportunity might be the best way to turn ambition, know how, and a relentless drive to succeed and be the best you can at your chosen home based business opportunity into cold, hard cash. Add to this that it greatly increases the feelings of a job well done, and it is not surprising that a business opportunity does so much more than simply put some extra money into your wallet.
On the flipside, today’s reality dictates that high income careers and even sales careers are no longer as stable as they used to be. In the most recent news is the Circuit City debacle that shows that a multi-million dollar company will gladly sever ties with its trained workforce to have untrained workers take over their places for highly reduced wages. To add insult to injury, none of these replacement workers needs to have had previous sales jobs or experience. While Circuit City may not be the paragon for high income jobs, it does illustrate the point that in a day and age of outsourcing, downsizing, and merging, job security is nowhere to be found.
Thus, the reality that the US Census Bureau is reporting is not surprising in the very least. Skilled workers, seasoned customer service professionals, and those with an interest in leadership have found that rather than casting their pearls before those who will do little to appreciate them, there are high income opportunities that may be found in the avenues of network marketing, personal development, and success coaching.
Others find that their little craft or handiwork that thus far has delighted friends and family, and perhaps earned a few dollars here and there, could be turned into a global business - thanks to the large-scale appeal and accessibility of the Internet - which might eventually surpass the corporate job altogether.
It is interesting to see that many college grads and entry level workers are seeing their employment for a boss as only a temporary solution to their quest for wealth, recognition, and perhaps even an early retirement. They eagerly partake in leadership training, career advancement seminars, and any other kind of education, on the job training, and skill building exercises they can glean.
These individuals understand that there are no guarantees and rather than putting all their eggs in one basket and hoping as well as praying that their job will be secure past the next merger or streamlining of operations, they begin building a home based business - at least on paper. Ideas are jotted down, possible contacts are being cultivated, the product or invention might be patented, and the ropes of web design are traversed so as to be ready when the time comes to throw open the virtual doors.
Additionally, many workers already run a small business on the site that might at this point in time may not actually make a profit, but when the time comes that they can no longer rely on the corporate check and instead need to find an alternate way of paying the rent or making the car payment, they are ready to go with a home business that grow to such an extent that only the sky is the limit. If you have not already done so, take a look at the many small online businesses that make up much of the Internet today.
